Cash gifts

Includes checks

Make checks payable to the Air Force Academy Foundation. Indicate your gift designation on the memo line of your check. The date of the gift is subject to IRS rules. It is the donor's responsibility to substantiate the date of the contribution. Mailed checks must be postmarked by Dec. 31, 2025, to be recorded as a 2025 gift. Please note: This does not apply to mailed credit card gifts.

Gifts by credit card

The IRS requires credit card donations to be processed in the same year of the deduction. Therefore, all credit card donations must be processed on or before Dec. 31. We encourage you to make your credit card gifts online to ensure that they will be processed in 2025. We must receive mailed credit card gifts by Dec. 27, 2025, to be recorded as a 2025 donation.

Recurring giving

Recurring giving plays a crucial role in support of the Air Force Academy. It provides a steady stream of funds, allowing the Association & Foundation to plan long-term projects, allocate resources more effectively and respond swiftly to emerging needs. This reliable and valuable support not only enhances financial stability, but also fosters deeper connections between donors and causes. By you set up a recurring gift, you make a meaningful impact over time, consistently support the Academy mission, and create a personal sense of commitment and involvement.

Donors age 73 and above can use their required minimum distribution to make a qualified charitable deduction.

Donor-advised funds

Donors can contribute to a fund set up with a variety of firms or organizations and take a charitable tax deduction in the year of the contribution. You, acting as the adviser, can direct distributions from the donor-advised funds to the public charity of your choice. The Association & Foundation outlines more DAF information on its gift planning website, including a downloadable PDF.

Matching gifts by employers

Many employers match gifts made by employees, spouses and retirees. See if your company offers a matching gift program or check with your human resources department regarding qualification. Participating companies may return the required matching gift form with Association & Foundation gifts.
