Opportunities to support athletic excellence

Support Falcon sports

Give now

Competition on the fields of friendly strife helps develop team building and leadership skills for future Air Force and Space Force officers. Since the Air Force Academy’s inception, athletics has been one of the three fundamental pillars of the cadet experience. Cadet-athletes have won numerous conference and national championships in their pursuit of excellence. The Air Force Academy Association & Foundation is proud to help you support athletic programs and cadet-athletes in their pursuit of excellence.

Capital projects

Modern facilities play an important role in the leadership development environment at the heart of the Air Force Academy’s athletic mission. World-class facilities enable cadets and coaches to experience meaningful growth through hard work, grit and determination. Through wins and losses, future officers learn how to solve problems in innovative and collaborative spaces.

Falcon Stadium

Transforming an Academy Icon

The Kucera Legacy Center at Falcon Stadium is the most transformative project in the history of Air Force Academy athletics. Read more on the Falcon Stadium Modernization website.

Falcon’s Nest

The Falcon’s Nest at Clune Arena will be expanded to offer better accommodations for guests, cadets, faculty and staff. The improved space will feature space for meetings, dining and club area for large group gatherings. In addition, it will provide fixed premium seats for basketball and hockey games. The extra space is critical for team and course-specific tutor sessions, additional instruction sessions and training table meals. The large group meeting space will be available to cadets and the athletic department year-round outside of games.

Baseball Stadium

An upgrade to the Falcons’ baseball facility is long overdue. The Air Force Academy Foundation is seeking lead donors for the project. Please connect with us if you are interested in helping to provide Falcon Baseball with the home it deserves.

Athletic endowments

Create a perpetual legacy

You can provide enduring support to any Air Force athletic program by contributing to an existing endowment or creating a new one. An endowment is a permanent fund that is invested to provide sustainable financial support for a program. The gifted funds yield investment returns based on market conditions and provide an annual payout to support the donor’s designated use. These commitments provide a continuous and reliable source of income, a critical element in today’s increasingly uncertain environment.

Creating Your Endowment

Getting started

How to launch your Falcon legacy

What you need to know

An endowment is a gift of assets that is strategically converted by the Association & Foundation into long-term investments to provide sustainable, long-term financial support. Each year a portion of the market value from your endowment is transferred into a spending account, making it available to your designated beneficiary. Only the earned returns on your endowment are spent; the principal remains intact, yielding benefits to the Academy in perpetuity. Endowment donors receive personalized reports on their investments each year, describing the financial performance of their gift and how their gift continues to make a difference at USAFA.

Operational support

Air Force fields 27 NCAA Division 1 intercollegiate athletic programs plus rugby, boxing and spirit. Nearly one in every four cadets compete at the highest collegiate level in their sport. Philanthropic contributions provide each program and its cadet-athletes with the resources needed to be competitive. To support operations, select "Fund for Athletics (Excellence Fund)" under "Primary" when you choose "View other giving opportunities" on the gift form.

Sport specific giving

In addition to the overall athletic program, donors can give directly to individual programs. Each donation is transferred to the Department of Athletics, allocated to the specified program and utilized at the discretion of the coach. Private donations help fund staff coaching positions, enhanced nutrition programs, more efficient travel accommodations and more.
